Dr. Mwangi Joseph Matheri obtained a PhD in Physiotherapy in the area of Disability and Rehabilitation from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He is the current Chair in the Department of Rehabilitative Sciences, School of Medicine, in the College of Health Sciences of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and technology. He began as a medical teacher in Kenya Medical Training College in August 1998.

He has also played a key role in Foundation of Innovative and New Diagnostics (FIND) projects which include “Assessing the use of digital tools to strengthen COVID-19 screening, testing, contact tracing and patient management in Kenya.

Dr Matheri has published a number of original research papers as well as done numerous reviews, majorly centering his research projects and publications on Disability and Rehabilitations. Among them are; 2017-2018 he published on “Persons with Disabilities Support Services Needs and Utilization in Kenya: A study in preparation of a Disability Policy Brief Manuscript. In 2008 he participated in the development and publication of Physical Inactivity among Adolescents with physical disabilities attending High Schools in Kenya.
