Henry is currently a lecturer in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences, School of Mathematics and Physical Sciences (JKUAT). Henry’s background is Biostatistics and Epidemiology. His research interests include: Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology, Clinical trials, Bayesian modeling, spatiotemporal modeling, spatial data analysis, longitudinal data analysis, Statistical computing, Infectious disease modelling, Bioinformatics amongst others.
Henry has extensive experience in eHealth data; having worked on large scale routinely collected primary health care data for over 10 years. Currently, he is a member of the JKUAT COVID-19 response modelling Team and the National COVID-19 Modelling Technical Committee (GoK). Some of the projects he has been involved in at DHARC include; Modelling of the COVID-19 experience on behalf of the Kenyan government (supporting the ministry of health) (April 2020 –to date), Network Optimization Diagnostics for Improved Access and Efficiency of Essential Package of Diagnostic Services for Women and Children at Primary and Secondary Healthcare Level in Kenya (Dec. 2020 – Sept. 2021), Use of digital tools in supporting COVID-19 screening, testing, contact tracing and patient management in Kenya(Nov. 2020 – May 2021), Utilization of digital tools to enhance COVID-19 and TB testing and linkage to care among Boda Boda riders in the Nairobi metropolis (May 2021 – Jan. 2022) and KEHMIS III (Systems interoperability and data use) (May 2021 – Jan. 2022).
He has served as a trainer for Statistics Softwares and others including Stata, SAS, R, SPSS, Epi-Data, Mendeley, Jabref and EndNote at JKUAT (HIGDA), Taita Taveta University (TTU) and other research institutions like KEMRI, East Africa Public Health Laboratory Network Project (EAPHLNP) and Institute of Primate Research (IPR) amongst others.
